You probably need steroids to control the flare up. Its usually your consultant who would do this, So youve had the colonoscopy? Have you been given a follow up appointment? If not get back to your GP, who sounds on the ball, to refer you. Does your hospital have an IBD team? Specialist nurses who c...

You mentioned you are being referred to a gastro. Thats exactly what you do want. Gastroenterologists deal with all issues regarding digestion from beginning to end. Best of luck mate

Peter, firstly, have you been referred to a gastro consultant? If not get your GP to refer you. If you have find out when your appointment is. I understand how you feel. I love my food, but during flare ups the thought of eating, and then the flaring - horrendous. Was just thinking the same. I found some fantastic people due to my colitis, who helped me before, during and after. And now I'm getting emotional. The colitis days were horrid, but what I remember most is the emotion of the support from here, NHS and colleagues. Daz, I'll try and find that supermod...
