Dont know what to suggest for lessening the symptoms. Just wanted to say "well done" for getting to 1mg. I suppose listen to his body, rest when he needs to, allow the body time to heal itself.

Oh, I've been doing a course and found out more about adhesions. When a muscle is damaged then lymphatic fluid doesn't drain in that area as well, It stops being fluid and becomes doughy and sticky, and this adheres to other organs/muscles. One tip for reducing it to keep the fluid moving is massage - very gentle and NOT over healing skin, sutures. It makes sense as to why more can be caused through surgery to remove.

Hi all,

Just a quick update. Hubby is finally off the steroids!!! He has been of them now for 3 weeks. I can't believe it, I was scared he would never get off those damn drugs! He does have some withdrawal symptoms, but nothing too terrible. It's taken just over a year for him to taper off the steroids - so glad it is over.

Congrats, I was on them for 3 years and had the same problem tapering off, I had the added goal of being able to have surgery at last once off them, my specialist was reluctant to operate unless I had a period without steroids as they can hinder recovery. Phil

Hi all,

Well hubby is now feeling fabbo after being off the steroids for a few months now. No withdrawal symptoms or anything. He is not drinking much, running and going to he gym and eating healthy. He has not been this healthy in years and is loving it! Having his bowel removed was the best thing he could have done as he is so much healthier now. He wishes he had done it earlier.

I would like to thank everyone for their help and support on this site - it has really helped a worrying wife!

Clara
