mortgage workplace quick questions ulcerative colitis

Postby Twoods92 » Thu Nov 02, 2017 9:53 pm

Hi there I've just been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis aged 25 currently in hospital and had my first infliximab drip today there is a lot going through my mind and I find the questions I ask no body knows the answers as everybody is different I was hoping I could get some brief answers from people so here goes any help would be much appreciated

I'm worried that when I flare up sick pay will not cover my mortgage and I need to provide for my family does anybody have any info on insurances that will protect me from loss of earnings if a flare up occurs? Or any specific companies that are really useful?

is there any common food that should be avoided? Or is very well known for flare ups?

What treatment is found to be most helpful anybody have good experiences with infliximab?

Thanks for your help

Hi mate,
Sorry to hear about your circumstances, I totally understand, i'm having a monster flare at present. Awful isn't it?
Not sure about mortgage illness cover, but I would signpost you on to the Gov't money advice website. It is very helpful but impartial, here's the link to their site covering illness mortgage protection;

I avoid any nuts, seeds, pips, alcohol (sigh), eggs, unpeeled fruit, fizzy drinks, sweetcorn. That's my danger list, but it will possibly be different for you.

Get well soon mate, I have spent loads of time in hospital, totally understand :sick: toilet.gif" alt=":toliet:" title="John" />
