What is scouse!!! you need to come and visit! Its basically the Liverpool version of stew or hotpot, cooked on the stove. Lamb (best with the left over from the roast), onion, carrot, boiled up. Then add sliced potatoes, cover with water and gravy browning, season boil then simmer until the potatoes "fall" serve with bread (scouse butties, see) and red cabbage.

Phil, you've done it again, and distracted us!!! Also this is what happens when your stoma settles down - food, food, food!! :P

That's what we call Irish Stew down yer!
From now on I shall be calling it scouse in your honour Karen!!

Apologies clarabella for hijacking your thread but it does go to show that once you're fully recovered from this op there is a definite obsession with food :D

Its ace. And you can cook it the day before and just bring back to the boil when ready to eat. AND its really mushy, so no problems with the veg.
PS thinking of red cabbage which may be too much, if your hubby ever tries beetroot or tomato soup, remind him he's eaten it when he's running around screaming that he's bleeding!

I eat anything TBH,the main thing is to chew the food up until it's pulp before swallowing

Couple of times I've had minor blockages from rushing my food, that was once mushrooms and the other time baked potato skin

Well he now eats anything he wants (except nuts and sweet corn) and has had no bloackages. In fact the stoma itself is working prefectly (fingers crossed it continues to do so)!
